Favorite "panini"

This is one of my favorite lunch recipes, a real ten-minute treat. You'll need any bread, cheddar cheese, deli turkey, bacon, and a few more ingredients.

  • 1 tbsp butter or substitute any other fat or oil
  • 2 slices any bread or a hamburger roll
  • 1 slice deli turkey breast
  • 2 slice pre-sliced cheddar cheese or several slices off a block
  • 2 tsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp yellow mustard
  • 2 slices tomato very thinly sliced
  • 1 piece bacon baked or fried according to your taste

  • Mix the mayonnaise and mustard together in a small bowl. Spread the mixture on the inside of the two slices of bread. Then layer in one slice of cheddar cheese, followed by the turkey, the thin-sliced tomato, the bacon, and the final piece of cheese. Close the sandwich.
  • Heat the butter (or other oil) in a small pan on medium-high heat. When the butter is hot and almost browned, place the sandwich in the pan. Press down with a flat spatula and hold. After 1-2 minutes, flip the sandwich. Press it down again. After 1-2 more minutes, turn off the heat and remove the sandwich from the pan. It's ready to serve!

Pro tip: Put the bacon on to cook right away when you start this recipe. Then, by the time you've prepared everything else, it'll be ready!
