Hi all! A couple words for you…
I entered the Experiments in Fiction Poetry Challenge #8 last week with a little haiku poem about autumn and new beginnings. Lo and behold, it garnered second place in the challenge! I’m delighted. You can read my poem, as well as the first and third place entries ā both stunning poems, by the way ā here on Experiments in Fiction. The contest was judged by Jaya Avendel of Nin Chronicles, who is a wonderfully talented poet herself.
In other news, apartment searching has been temporarily paused, but will resume in a month or two! And I’m keeping busy here on the blog. Check out my most recent poem, “O Drums,” if you’re looking for an uplifting read. I’ll be posting later this week about self-care tips and tricks that I utilized in my time off from blogging, so look out for that. We’ll discuss diet, exercise, and the benefits of dressing up even when you have nothing to dress up for…
I hope that you’re having a great day! Smiles from Voyage of the Mind. š
Congratulations Laura: I loved your haiku, especially as Iām trying to think of Autumn/Fall differently this year!
Thanks so much, Ingrid! And thank you again for hosting the challenge. I agree, the haiku came to me at the perfect time for its message.
I loved your haiku, Laura; those little poems say so much and your imagery evoked so many memories in me.
May the words continue to flow!
Thank you so much, Jaya! The fall is my favorite season, so it crops up a lot in my writing. And the same to you!
Great poem! I can’t wait to read your self care tips.
Aw, thank you. I can’t wait to share! I hope they’re going to be helpful. š
