YOU RUIN ME

I want you
to love me too much.

I want you
to see mountains in my eyes,
to read into every touch
and between the furrows
of my brow
and between my freckles
and over every
sunlit lunch
I want you
to stare.

I want you
to mourn me when I’m gone.
And miss me
when we’re together.
I want you
to feel alone with me.

I want you
to tie our hands together.
I want you
to cry. I want
to see the tears in your eyes.
I need
the proof of your love.
I want you
to love me so much
you ruin me.

I want you
to love me
as much as
I love you.

I want you.
You ruin me.
